Privacy policy

This website is run by SLM USA Service Corp, doing business as SLM Pool Services, a pool cleaning and repair company based in Tamarac, FL. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean that company.

This policy covers this website and the quote form on it. Once you become a customer, anything specific to your service is covered by the terms you agree to with us.

When you request a quote, the form asks for:

• Your name, phone number and email address (required)
• Your ZIP code and the service you need (required)
• Optional pool details: size, whether it is screened, salt or chlorine, whether it has a spa, and how often you want service
• Anything you write in the notes box

Along with your request, the form also sends:

• The page you sent it from
• How you found the site (see "How you found us" below)
• How long the form took to fill in, and a reCAPTCHA token, both used only to filter out spam

We use this to reply to you, give you a price, schedule service and look after your pool. We use the "how you found us" details to learn which searches, listings and ads bring in customers.

When you press send, our server checks the form and emails your request to our business inbox. The email is delivered by Brevo, an email delivery service. If Brevo is unavailable, it is delivered by Resend instead. Both process the message only to deliver it to us.

This website does not keep its own database of quote requests. If an email ever fails to send, our server log records only the service type and ZIP code, never your name, phone or email.

To stop automated abuse, the server keeps the sending IP address in memory for a few minutes to limit how many requests one address can send. Our hosting provider, Vercel, also keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to run and secure the site.

If you call or text us instead, we receive your number and your message the way any business does, through our phone service.

The quote form uses Google reCAPTCHA v3 to tell people from bots. It runs in the background, with no puzzle to solve. To do that, Google collects information about your device and how you interact with the page, and returns a score to our server.

Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. The form also uses a hidden field and a timing check that run on our own server and send nothing to anyone else.

On our live website, we load Google Tag Manager, which runs Google Analytics 4. If we advertise on Google, it may also run Google Ads conversion measurement under the same rules. These tags:

• Load only on our real domain, never on preview copies or test versions of the site
• Load after the page has finished loading, so they never slow down what you came to see
• Never load for our own team's devices (see "Cookies" below)

Google Analytics uses cookies to count visits and to report things like the pages viewed, the type of device and browser, the approximate area a visit comes from and the site that sent it. We see this as totals and trends, not as a file on you.

The events we send

Besides page views, the site sends these events. None of them include your name, phone number or email address.

• generate_lead: sent only after our server accepts a quote request. It carries the type of service requested.
• phone_tap and text_tap: sent when someone taps our call or text button. They carry which button on the page was tapped.
• plan_finder_complete: sent when someone finishes the plan finder. It carries the plan it suggested.

On every page, the site notes how your visit started and saves it in your own browser. Nothing is sent to us unless you submit the quote form, and then it travels with your request.

For this visit (session storage)

Cleared when you close the tab or browser. It can include:

• Campaign tags in the link you clicked (UTM source, medium, campaign, term and content)
• Ad details passed in the link, such as campaign, ad group and ad IDs and the keyword match type
• Ad click IDs: Google's gclid, gbraid and wbraid, and Meta's fbclid if present
• The page you landed on and the site that referred you

Your first visit (local storage, up to 90 days)

A short record of your first visit: when it happened, the landing page, the referring site, the UTM source, medium and campaign, and a Google ad click ID if there was one. It is replaced after 90 days.

You can delete both at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

• Google Analytics cookies (on our live domain only) to tell new visits from returning ones.
• Google reCAPTCHA may set its own cookies when the quote form loads, to do its spam check.
• Internal traffic cookie (pool_internal): set only on devices used by our own team, either from our own network or after opening a special link. It lasts up to about 13 months and only tells the site not to load any measurement tags, so our own visits are not counted.

Our own code sets no advertising cookies.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not give your contact details to other companies for their own marketing. We share information only:

• With the service providers named on this page (Brevo, Resend, Google and Vercel), to run the site and deliver your request
• When the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public
• If the business is sold or merged, with the new owner, who must keep honoring this policy for information already collected

• Quote requests: kept in our business email for as long as we need them to serve you and keep normal business records. Ask us and we will delete yours, unless the law requires us to keep it.
• Analytics data: kept in Google Analytics according to the retention setting on our account, after which Google deletes it.
• Browser storage: visit details clear when you close the browser; the first-visit record expires after 90 days.

• Block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. The site still works, including the quote form.
• Opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Browse in a private window, which clears session and local storage when you close it.
• Skip the form and call or text us instead.
• Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. We will answer within a reasonable time.

The site runs over HTTPS, our service keys are stored with our hosting provider and never in the site's code, and access to our inbox is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.

This site is for homeowners and property managers. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We are a Florida business serving customers in Florida, and this site is meant for visitors in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. If the law where you live gives you additional privacy rights, contact us and we will honor them as that law requires.

If we change how the site handles information, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. Changes apply from that date forward.
